Hugh James is currently acting on behalf of a number of local residents who experience odour nuisance which they alleged emanates from three food factories in the West Twyford area of London.

Katsouris Fresh Foods Ltd operates sites at Elveden Place and Abbeydale Road and Kolak Snack Foods Ltd operates a site on Elveden Road. Local residents have complained for many years that these factories are emitting very unpleasant odours over the large number of residential properties nearby.

The residents say that the odour is so strong that it prevents them from opening their doors and windows in the summer and some even report that their washing picks up the strong smell of hot fat and oil.

The residents continue to experience the odours despite numerous complaints to the Local Authority and a number of enforcement notices having been served on the sites by the Local Authority.

Hugh James specialises in nuisance claims and is representing the residents who are seeking compensation for past nuisance and an injunction to prevent the nuisance from happening in the future. The residents are represented on a ‘no win, no fee’ basis.

A residents meeting was held on the 31st July 2007 and was well attended by members of the community.
