The Timetable
Hugh James recruits two years in advance. The next recruitment process will be for 2011.
1. Summer Placement Scheme
- Apply online by 31st March
- Interviews - late April/mid May
- Maximum 24 candidates selected
- Runs June to August each year
- Integral part of recruitment process
2. Training Contract
- Apply online by 31st July
- Invitation to interview by letter – early August
- Interviews mid to late August
- All candidates (whether successful or not) notified within four weeks of interview
Selection For a Training Contract
- Between 7 to 10 trainees selected each year
- Applications accepted from individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
- 2:1 degree as minimum (unless there is good reason for a 2:2 degree being awarded)
- Non law graduates welcomed
- Interview including a 10 minute presentation – the topic being provided in the invitation to interview letter
- Interview panel comprises the Training Principal, HR Manager and a senior partner.
- All candidates (successful or not) will be contacted no later than 4 weeks from the end of the process
Sponsorship
- LPC funding for all successful candidates unless course completed prior to interview
- A provider that is rated by the SRA as ‘excellent’ or shows ‘commendable practice’ in all areas must be attended – please click here for more information
